Lata Mangeshkar is the most respected playback singer of India. She is called " The Nightingale of Bollywood". She was born on September 28, 1929 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Her father was Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar, a well known classical singer and theater actor and her mother was named Shudhmati.Lata was featured in the "Guinness Book of World Records" from 1974 to 1991 for recording maximum number of songs in the world. She has sung for over 50 years for 20 Indian Languages.
She has recorded more than 40,000 songs including her hindi film songs and she is still singing.
